Overview:

Janna and Tori will share the lessons they’ve learned as their office has begun exploring data visualization. They’ll walk through their attempt to migrate staff goals from a flat Excel file to a BI dashboard to Tableau, share some of the lessons they learned in working with Excel charts and graphs, and talk about successes & failures they have faced along the way. They will also point you towards resources that they have found helpful in their work.

Guest Speaker:

Janna is the Director of Relationship Management & Customer Support at Johns Hopkins, where she and her team provide portfolio, pipeline and moves management consultation services. She and her staff create customized analysis and recommendations for 150+ gift officers to build stronger relationships with patients, alumni, donors, and prospects.  Janna has been at Johns Hopkins since 2012, and prior to this she spent five years supporting gift officers at The Trust for Public Land.  Janna is a graduate of St. Olaf College (Northfield, MN) with degrees in Russian Studies and in Elementary Education.

 

Tori has been the Assistant Director of Relationship Management since January 2014, supporting analysis projects and overseeing data maintenance. Prior to joining the Office of Relationship Management, Tori worked as an Administrative Coordinator in the Whiting School of Engineering at Johns Hopkins. In that position, Tori supported multiple gift officers from 2007 to 2014. Tori received a Masters degree in Liberal Arts from Johns Hopkins in 2013, and is an alumna of Towson University, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Art.
